Quote of the Month:

  • “To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that’s a full day. That’s a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you’re going to have something special” -Jimmy Valvano

Family Vacation 2015 Y’all

Its officially summer time.  You know what that means.  Its time to pack up the car and get out or town and enjoy a nice family vacation.  Mommy and daddy decided that they had had enough of Cincinnati and that it was time we hit the open road and explore the dirty south for a week.  I must tell you I was super excited about this.  Since I was born at the the beach and mommy and daddy up and moved me away from it, this little girl has been itching to get her toes back in the sand and take in the ocean breeze and work on her sun tan.

With Charleston, SC as our destination mommy and daddy packed up the car and got us out on the open road.  I was so excited that I figured I would get the vacation off to a great start by having an accident in my pants not even 30 minutes into our trip. Now while this made me a little embarrassed since I am almost two now and thought I was a little more potty trained at this point, I decided to break the tension from making them have to pull over by letting them know that “While children in the back seat can cause accidents, accidents in the back seat can cause children.” Mommy and daddy wanted to know where I heard that from since they said that is how I was conceived.  I don’t get it.

After over ten hours in the car and a quick pit stop in Charlotte to see our friends Sean and Jess and for daddy to check out the NASCAR Hall of Fame (yeah, he is that guy) we finally made it to Charleston late into the night.

The next morning I was in for my first major shock of the trip.  Now I know I was pretty young when I moved away from California and the beach, but I am fairly certain that I remember the ocean eating the sun every night.  I was in for a major shocker when the first thing I saw on our trip was the sun coming back up out of the water and rising up into the air, instead of down into the water.  I mean, how is that even possible.  This world is so confusing.

After I got over this initial shock the rest of the trip went pretty smooth.  I got to run around in the sand and the water, got to build sand castles, and enjoyed time with Grammy and Grampy and Aunt Roo Roo.

Now being the smart, logical parents that I have our trip was not over when we left South Carolina.  They got the brilliant idea that we should go to Chicago to see some friends and Uncle Ty Ty.  People…Charlston is in the South…Chicago is NOWHERE even close, on the way, in the same region or time zone for that matter.  Where these two brilliant people that I call parents got the idea that it made sense to go all the way to Chicago right from there I will never know but it was well worth it and Chicago is quickly becoming one of my favorite cities.  I got to see some of my old LA friends who happened to be in town, sent some time with Uncle TY TY and got to explore the city.

All in all I like this whole vacation thing and told mommy and daddy we should do this more often.  Cincinnati is great and all but this little adventurer needs to get out and see this country Y’all.  Well, it looks like I picked up a new word this week anyway.  Now its back to Cincy and can’t wait to see what the rest of summer has in store for me.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day Mommy!!!

I love you THIS MUCH!!!

Happy Mother’s Day to Grammy and Nana Moe as well!!! Love You Guys!!!

Easter 2015

Happy Easter to all of my Chicks and Peeps!!!  See what I did there…huh…huh.  Sometimes I crack myself up.  As a young girl who is quickly approaching 2 years of age I am starting to grasp how these holidays work and how if I play it right can make out very well in the process.

After struggling to get through another Lent where I gave up sitting still, keeping my hands to myself, wearing clothes, and using my indoor voice and daddy gave up sleeping in and about half of his remaining hair, we spent the morning at church where the first words out of the Priests mouth were “Wow…I haven’t seen you since last Easter.”  Blame my parents for that one.  I would LOVE to spend every Sunday at Church as I am such a sweet, innocent, good girl.  Wink Wink.

After church my day started with me getting to color some eggs.  I asked mommy… “What did the Easter Egg say to the boiling water?”  “I don’t know sweetie…what” Mom asked.  “It’s gonna take a while to get me hard.  I just got laid by some chick!”  She did not find that amusing.

After making a mess of the kitchen, the table, the floor, my clothes, my face and my hair from the dye it was time for an Easter egg hunt.  Now I know I am not even two years old yet but when daddy handed me my easter egg basket I only had one comment for him.  “Daddy, in life they tell us not to put all your eggs in one basket, right?”  “That’s right Calee.” Daddy responded.  “Then why did you only hand me one basket for the Easter Egg Hunt?!?!”  Clearly from Daddy’s blank expression where you could see that small brain of his trying to work that he knew I had a good point.  Any way I clearly found more then ONE egg and used my ONE basket to put them all in.  I got all kinds of great sweets, candy and money.  I like this Easter Bunny fella.

All in all it was another great Easter celebration.  Not quite as wild and crazy as last year in LA.  You remember that one guys.  Just in case you forgot, it involved a lot of Mimosas.  By a lot, I mean ALL OF THEM. Crazy adults.

And of course when I brought up last year and my parents antics they accused me of blowing their shenanigans out of proportion and of being a liar.  Where I promptly looked them straight in the eyes and said ” Tooth Fairy, Santa Clause, Easter Bunny.” Mic…Drop.

Winter to do’s

Let me just start by saying that winters in the midwest can kiss my big fat size 4 diaper you know what.  I blame mommy and daddy for this.  Could have been on a beach.  But NOOOOOOO…someone had to up and move me from the warm LA winters to…well…not LA thats for sure.  Thanks a lot guys.  Im sure we will have a nice and pleasant talk about this once I get a little older.

Winter, lets just say that I have already packed your bag packed and don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Winter in Cincinnati.  What does that mean.  Well it started in November/December with this…

And since I had never seen anything like this before I was all like…

And then January came around and I saw this…

And that just made me like…Fine …I can deal with this one more time like…

And just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse February had to come along…and guess what…more of this…

And this final straw had me all up in here like… really…or as those tweeters/facebookers/texters would say…FML..IMG_8018

Seriously…A couple of months of just basically confined to the house…starring out into the world.

Now I guess other then not seeing the sun for the last three months winter wasn’t completely terrible.  There were a couple of Highlights when we weren’t digging ourselves out of our doorways from all the snow.

Festival of Lights

Bowling for the first time

First time Sledding and building a Snowman

Lots of Indoor Fun since we couldn’t get outside

Pet Peeves of the Month: January-March 2015

Well…Its a new year but not much has changed in regards to how much people can annoy the heck out of me and daddy.  Here is our list of  biggest pet peeves for the start of 2015.

1.)  Saggy Pants.  People there is a reason that belts were invented and that pants come with those little loops at the waistband.  this isn’t the 90s anymore.  pull those Damn pants up.  nobody wants to see your undies with the poop stains in them.

2.)  Talking with mouth full.  Eat…Chew…Swallow…then talk.  very simple.

3.)  Duck Faces.  i don’t even know where to begin.  For the love of God just stop.

4.)  People who think they are funny, but aren’t (and yet are always making jokes).  See this guy below and his “Blog”

5.)  And of course…DRIVERS…all of them…especially in the snow…SMH
